The sport of casting...

Popular among more than thirty nations worldwide, having reached the very last steps before entering the Olympic Games, casting is an athletic sport, using fishing rods stronger than those of the trade, in distance and accurary events.. Today, several teams exist in France, among whose sea weights, light weights and fly are the most popular. Several competition yearly allow the tackle manufacturers to develop their new products. Thus, like test bench, casting has the same relatioship with fishing than clay pigeon has with shooting, or Formula 1 with car driving. Casting gathers two distinct disciplines, distance and the accuracy, 9 events international rules, under the authority of the International Casting Federation. The world record for flycasting distance one hand is 79 meters, that is to say more than three times the distance required while fishing. With two hands, this distance reaches 90 meters. The casting exists in the USA since 1867, in England and France since the beginning of last century.
